Flower essences are a form of vibrational medicine made from the energetic imprints of flowers infused in water. A form of alternative medicine, flower essences are used to address emotional and mental well-being, not physical symptoms. They differ from essential oils in that they contain no scent or physical parts of the plant.

The use of flowers for healing has historical roots in ancient traditions, but the modern practice of flower essences was developed in the 1930s by British physician Edward Bach. He believed that emotional imbalance was the cause of physical disease and developed 38 different flower remedies to address a full spectrum of negative emotional states.

Flower Essences are made by gathering fresh blossoms, using a leaf from the plant to preserve its purity, often in the morning on a sunny day, after respectfully connecting with the plant.

The flowers are then floated on a bowl of natural spring water and left in direct sunlight for several hours. This process is believed to transfer the flower's energetic properties into the water.

The flowers are removed, and the remaining liquid, known as the "mother tincture," is preserved, typically with brandy.

This tincture is then further diluted to create stock and dosage bottles for use.

Flower essences are typically taken orally by placing a few drops under the tongue or in a glass of water. They can also be applied topically to the skin, or made into other formulas and aura sprays.

The essences are believed to work through the principle of resonance, where the unique vibrational pattern of the flower interacts with and re-balances a person's energy field. This process stimulates the body's own capacity for healing, addressing different emotional themes.
